Giving any third-party tool access to your brokerage account is a serious decision. We built Sentinel with that trust in mind — here is exactly how it works, with no vague reassurances.
Connecting Sentinel uses Schwab's official OAuth flow — the same mechanism used by any trusted app. You log in directly on Schwab's own login page. Your username and password never touch Sentinel at any point.
The Schwab API does not permit fund transfers. Sentinel can open and close positions, but it is technically impossible for it to withdraw, transfer, or move funds out of your account. This is a hard constraint enforced by Schwab, not a policy.
Every user's Schwab connection is stored and handled independently. No other user's Sentinel instance has any access to your account — not read access, not trade access, nothing.
Sentinel runs on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure — no shared hosting, no cheap VPS, no shortcuts. Your credentials and account data are not stored beyond what is required to maintain the API connection.
You can revoke Sentinel's access directly from your Schwab account settings at any time, completely independently of Sentinel itself. You do not need to contact us or do anything on our end. Your access, your revocation.
Is Sentinel available for other brokers besides Schwab?
Sentinel is Schwab-only for now. Expanding to additional brokers is on the roadmap — the timeline will depend on demand, API availability, and development capacity. If there's a specific platform you'd like to see supported, let us know through the feature suggestion form on the Sentinel page.
Why do I have to reauthenticate every 7 days?
Schwab requires all third-party API connections to be reauthorized every 7 days. This is enforced on Schwab's end and isn't something Sentinel can change or work around. You'll get a reminder before your session expires so you're never caught off guard mid-session.
Do I need to stop using thinkorswim or Schwab's own platform?
No. Sentinel works through Schwab's API independently of whatever platform you trade on. You keep using thinkorswim, the Schwab app, or whatever you prefer — Sentinel sees your positions regardless and enforces your limits.
Can I bypass Sentinel's limits mid-session?
No. During market hours, limits can only be tightened — not loosened — and Sentinel cannot be stopped or unlinked. That's intentional. The point is that it works even when you don't want it to.
What happens when my free trial ends?
You'll be prompted to subscribe. If you don't, your account downgrades to the free Guardian tier — daily loss kill switch stays active forever. You never lose that protection.
What is the founding member pricing?
For a limited time, early users get full Sentinel Elite access locked at $42.69/month forever — including a 14-day free trial that needs no credit card. This rate will not be offered again once the offer closes.
Is my Schwab account information shared with anyone?
No. Each user connects their own Schwab account via OAuth. Your credentials are never shared between users or stored in a way that anyone else can access them.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel before your trial ends and you won't be charged. Cancel a paid subscription and you retain access until the end of the billing period, then drop to the free Guardian tier.
What if I want to upgrade from a lower tier?
You can upgrade anytime from your dashboard, or with the billing commands in Discord — start a plan with the subscribe command and change it with the manage command.
Do founding member prices change if new tiers are added?
No. Whatever tier you locked in as a founding member, that price is yours forever. New tiers added in the future are available to upgrade into at a separate rate.
